inspired by DMK and his long exposure water shots, i thought i would try it myself, i dont think this is as good, but i liked it none the less. I was up to my calfs in seawater, and so was my tripod, it kept sinking into the sand! heheh. canon 5d and ef 28-135mm lens

So what setting did you use for this long exposure Dimps. I am glad your calves didn't panic. Now if they had been ewes. Such a beautiful outcome of your experiment. The exposure is so good it is almost indecent. :)

Darryn's inspired me too with his long-exposure shoreline shots, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet! I really like this one; out of the three you've posted so far, this one is my favorite. They all have a touch of surrealism with the long-exposures, but I like the overall simplicity in this one. I hope I can pull-off some good ones like you guys ;)

Very cool. Has an almost archetypal quality. Here's a thought, if you have any shots where the waves are less smoothed out, how about adding some of that extra shape and texture, just hints of it, overlayed on what you've got here? So there would be a bit more detail/information in the foreground/mid and then fading out to the super smoothness, kind of evoking how the things close to us in time and space and memory are rich with detail but as things get "further away" they lose detail and become vague and generalized. Or am I overthinking it? Ha.
