this is a wwII bullet my other half dug up at work. i wanted to photograph it but wasnt sure how and ended up coming up with this idea simply cos i had some tulips on the mantlepiece. if anyone has any other ideas, let me know!

In my ideology, I wouldn't have them cozying up but rather peace overwhelming war in some way. Just a thought, but you have a great idea. I think I would have left the stem of the tulip green in stark contrast to the darks of the bullet also.

I think the tulip is a spy Dimps the way she is cuddled up to the bullet. Many angles to interpret in this great idea.

Ok, can't shake the creative idea of adding/employing a single ray of light (or rays, plural to create some more interest in the background).. highlighting both, casting shadows ... possibly, a B & W conversion.
That morning drivel of mine aside..
Caveats?
Kind of curious as to why you did desaturated the stem. The bloom in and of itself looks strong enough to carry off drawing the eyes? And the bullet is not slouch either in it's supporting role and well-defined shape/lines.
That said..
Coffee? Donut?
