I liked the idea of complimentary colours and thought a blue macaw would be as good a subject as any (Yellows, greens and blues).
It was the wing feathers that interested me in this shot. This is why the head is out of focus and left in for compositional reference.

I too like the focus of the feathers with his head out of focus. My head is normally out of focus so maybe that is why I like it.
