Nope, not a jaguar. Judging by the lack of a central spot in each group (with one exception visible on its left shoulder blade), I'd say it's a leopard.
Good shot of a lazy leopard!. No matter how hard you try, it is said that you cannot change the spots on a leopard!!! Good capture of this beautiful animal! Thanl you.
Great Shot. Believe this is a Jaguar. The African Leopard rosettes are smaller, do not have the central marking. Overall the Jaguar tends to be stockier, with a much blockier head and body. Like a leopard on steroids. It's limbs (particularly the forelimbs) are shorter than the leopard's as is the tail. The Jaguar's coat is often quite light, almost whitish, in the chest area. Besides, the cat was photographed in the zoo. I am sure the Edinburgh Zoo has identified it correctly.
Oh wow! I'm glad I found your artwork. I just looooove cats. This poor fella looks like he's had a hard day at the office. hee hee. Very pretty picture. :)
thats awsome, I found it cause i was looking for a jungle cat that looks like my kittn and i bassically found it althougt its a cross between my big lazy adult cat and my cute lanky kitten that sleeps in the funniest positions im gonna post one soon
it is a jaguar, after all :) he's resting peacefully and looks calm like an angel, but i wouldn't approach him any closer :D
great composition, the tree on the right and leaves on the left form a perfect frame for this magnificent animal! also, a great lightning, it focuses the animal and not the rest of the image.
maybe it's just me, but those leaves on the left add a certain mysterious spirit to this image.. like you had been hidden behind a bush for a while and then bang! you jumped out of the bushes, took a photo and ran away :D (at least, i would :)) and then he got surprised and slightly opened his eyes to see what the heck is going on.. by that time, you were miles away so he continued sleeping :))) ok, i admit, i always have a huge imagination regardind the images on caedes.net :))
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand and hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand -"The Stolen Child"
