Forget about 3rds, how about 16ths? Under a Weeping Willow on a cold Winter's day. Straight from the camera using a modified monochrome setting and slightly underexposed. Dodge and burn tools applied on foreground.

edit: To users with a P.C. when setting a vertical image as your desktop it's best to choose the smallest size and set the image in the center under display properties/ desktop.(Choose a neutral background.) Mac users, you're on your own.

I love the tones in this. I really love your willingness to try something different. This is a very appealing image, Jay. I think it's a combination of the gracefulness of the willow branches hanging down to meet the tops of the distant trees and the color tones you have created with your toolbox of ideas.
