It may be the place to be for geese and ducks, but I like it a little warmer before I get in the water.

Thanks for the comments, friends. Happy New Year to all.

Jimbob, in my country we have an old (and perhaps strange) habbit: at New Year's Day some people are going to the beach and make a brief swim in the cold North Sea (Winter swim on New Year's Day, locally known as New Year's dive). Once back on the beach they are treated to a glass of gin by people who aren't that 'brave'.

As you are talking in your narrative about getting in the water, maybe it's a good to introduce this habbit in the place where you are living. The only difference is, that there will be no people treating you to gin after doing this brave job, lol

Fine post my friend!

Happy New Year!

Regards, Cornelius.

It does look like the place to be also for humans in the summer Jimbob. The ducks and geese seem to be freezing their - off in the icy water! A fine image, my friend!

It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination.
