The Cardinal is the State Bird of Ohio, but St. Louis has the Cardinals Baseball team. Come to think of it, there is the Arizona Cardinals football team, and it's really warm there.....That might be where I'll go.

Thanks for the comments, friends.

Ah beautiful! I'd like one of those. Pics, I mean. They are such a welcome flash in the winter months. I love the females too and the way the male is so protective of her. Have you a feeder close by to where these bird images were taken? A fine capture, especially if you didn't use a long focal length.

I figured it was a Cardinal from the title JimboB. I was pleased to see it was such a grand photo. Had to laugh at the Owd Timer's remark. My favorite bird and baseball team. Let's not call this one Tony, please!

I love the cardinal, and have not seen too many here lately. Nice capture, there is a tad bit of blurr, but I do still like it. There is also the Stanford Cardinals if I remember right.

Jimbob - You may head to Arizona, but this cardinal will be right here looking for a kind person's filled bird feeder. Well done! Thad

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
