Jimbob - Very nice comp. Post-photo work enhances textures and colors. I look at the stonework at the corners of the mill and think that the building is a bit precarious with large sections not supported. Thad
Through no fault of your own JimboB, the muddy water takes away from this shot. I have discovered that mud reflects. With your editing skills I am surprised the water didn't get cleared. It is a great composition and mills are among my favorite photo subjects. They are just barns by the water. :)
You seem to be doing something a little different in your recent postings, Jim. I like it very much. Perhaps it's a drop of added saturation on the barn. I sometimes shoot for what you describe as the Disney look. Maybe there's a drop of that in there as well although I don't know how you achieved this. For example, the leaves immediately around the roof of the barn don't look photo-journalistic. Same goes for the tree immediately to the right of the barn. There's a water color feel to the shot that I sometimes shoot for but rarely achieve. I hereby award you one "fave", a 9.4 out of 10, and 6 words that mean the same thing as beauty.
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
