I wish these guys would come a little closer, because I can't afford to get a better zoom lens! This has been cropped a little.

It might not be as close as you would like, but it perfectly focused, and composed. I can just see you trying to inch a bit closer only to have him take off. :) Tigs♥ =^..^=

Even with a better zoom lens it's pretty hard to make a good capture of these shy birds. As soon as they notice you, they'll fly away. With respect of what I've just said, to me, the by you achieved result is very good, Jimbob.

Vry nice shot of the egret Jim - they are notoriously shy so you would need a zoom but you did wonderfully with this without the zoom.

You did just fine with the lens you had JimboB. He looks so good surrounded by all the green. It doesn't get much better then this.
