Well Pat (icedancer) got me started!...lol...I saw her post of herself on her welsh pony and it made me look up mine on my computer. The welsh pony I'm sitting on is really Debbie's, who's standing on the right. Thats my oldest niece who is almost 51 years old now! I can still remember this day like yesterday. The colt is Penny's (welsh pony) little boy who was mine. His name was Poncho. I got him at birth and saw him right after he was born. My brother in law then gave him to me for my own. I trained him by myself, including breaking him. Nobody else could ride him but me or he'd buck them off!...lol...I was only 15 then and wish those years were back! Except for school...lol...Poncho was only a few weeks old when this was taken. Thanks for the words my friends. I think this is the largest description I've ever written...lol Hey Pat! I'm riding bareback!....lol

What a nice shot to post, Joanie. I always wanted a horse, but was lucky to get a dog. Poncho is so cute. You are pretty cute yourself. LOL. Thanks for posting this.

I never wanted a pony......I did want a bear though (a real bear) My dad told me he'd eat all my food and I'd starve to death......then asked if I still wanted one......I walked off thinking about it........I guess I forgot to get back with him on that one. :) you girls look good on ponies though......us guys back then needed a horse like Silver. lol Thanks sweetie......it's a keeper. :)

May 1968! What a great time that was! My girlfriend of the time wore a poncho, but she didn't have a horse. I think she was scared of them.......LOL
Lovely nostalgic shot, Joanie.

I did not realize you were a cowgirl Joanie. The horse and the girl on the horse are both real beauties.

I didn't have a horse, but I did have a motorcycle and the last few months of freedom before the military came into my life. I loved the late sixties. Thanks for the memories, Joanie.

Hi Joanie,

You look like a real cowgirl my friend! All you need is the Hat. Do you know how to use a rope and lasso those runaway steers? That does not look like any pony I have ever seen he looks more like a giant! Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo of the past and got to fave it since it is so neat and I do like to see photo's of people past., plus you were so pretty!

Hey Joanie.. Isn't it wonderful to pull out old photographs and reminisce! The thing is, most people nowadays either store their pictures on their computer or on some CD/DVD that they never look at..lol I have an Aunt who once owned horses, and I actually saw one being born. A wonderful capture of you and your loved ones! Thank you so much for sharing, my friend :)

Very nice photo and memory Joanie. Funny, I am the same age as you and in 1968 I spent the summer on a horse ranch. It was the best summer of my life. I too would love to go back and live that time over, except for school as well.
