The boa constrictor (Boa constrictor ssp.), red-tailed boa, jibóia (Latin American name) or macajuel (pronounced mah-cah-well) (Trinidadian name) is a species of boa. It represents a rare case of an animal having the same common and scientific name. Though all boa species are constrictors, in that they kill their prey by constriction, only one species is properly called a "boa constrictor." Looks like one Boa is constricting the other! Nice shot of these two. I used to have one when I was young. She was about a foot long when I got her and about 5' when I had to sell her. These look huge in this shot! Well done :)

I used to be fearful of snakes until a few years ago when I actually held a red-tail boa. One can feel the strength in its body as it tries to constrict & I can feel it again just viewing your image. I am guessing this is a male & female.
