I like the shot, Ian. Not to be disrespectful of the Flag, but I find it a distraction, because of the near merger of it , and the high fountain.
The High fountain, the circular water arches, and the monument, are all the ingredients this shot needs. They compliment one another, and the Flag interferes with their
symetry.
In this instance, even a step to the right wouldn't have helped, as it would have practically eliminated the circular arches, of the fountains.
The only recourse is to take out the flag.
I'll try it later and send you a copy, to see what you think.
Good positining for the shot, though. You captured the monument, with a very artistic foreground. See you later.

Doug is very right. i'd say that you should have picked on of the items. There are too many symbols on the picture. you know, a fountain looks nice - the high monument has a lot of meanings, so people associate a lot with it, - even more the flag: it doesn't matter if people connect something good or something bad with it, it has thousands of meanings. so I, looking at you picture, don't know what exactly i'm supposed to look at. it is a nice shot, it just has to many symbolic objects in it. still a great shot :)
