In a world where families are being repeatedly extended into far off countries and continents, family memorial stones, ancient and modern alike, can often be some of the only tangible links to the ancestors and loved ones left behind.

Those moody clouds really give this scene a spooky atmosphere. I like it a lot.

I love the "Halo" around the spire, looks like it was touched by the hand of God.

I really like this Mick! I guess I'm different from a lot of people, but cemeterys fascinate me! I find them very peaceful and quiet. Of course I usually visit them in the day light! Great shot! Vicky

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

Nice capture...with the brightness reduction it makes it really spooky. It would make a great CD cover for the right band...Kudos

Very nice picture Mick, Again you`ve done a great job on the sky. Is this an early morning shot? I really think it has that kind of feel to it. I think you have captured the scene and the feeling of the place very, very well.

Dark, moody, sinister, creepy, scary, moldy, cold, boogey manish, great sky and a very nice pic.

This is the first pic i've seen here that moved me enough to leave a comment--but this one just has something in the shadows, the darkness.....ominous yet inocuous. If you'll pardon the pun, i think it's just a "killer" photo....hehe

Magnificent cemetery shot! Such well done composing and great clearness. I'm another one of the cemetery fans - they always fascinate me and make me wonder about all the different lives and stories. There is a brooding mood to this, probably due to the weather. That sky is awesome with the varied colours and shapes of the clouds. Wonderful view of the old gravestones, and the variety. Well done and a bit eerie lighting. You've done a great job with this image Mick :*>

Well Mick, you certainly are a breath of fresh air. I do not post my medieval cemetery pictures from Tuscany, Italy. It is where my family is buried and you may understand, it is such a happy place. It is almost ritualistic to meet there and reminisce about our loved ones. Yesterday, for all souls, they had a procession to the cemetery at 9 PM. Thank you so much for this beautiful picture. It seems heavenly!
