The construction of the lighthouse started in 1858, with the light first operating in March 1859 and was manned by two men… The Lighthouse was modernised in 1995 when it was converted to solar powered operation….The author, Virginia Wolff, spent holidays in St Ives Cornwall, and her view of this lighthouse inspired the writing of her most famous work, 'To The Lighthouse'……Please enjoy.

Wow this is stunning the clouds racing across the sky with a great dramatic look to them, and the beautiful colours in this scene.Love the blue in the sky and sea plus the light in the water between the rocks. The rocks at the front and the lighthouse combined with the sky gives a lovely feel of distance in this shot as well.10/10

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . I so enjoy your vantage point. So much to take in and enjoy along this shoreline. Couldn't ask for a more dramatic sky to compliment the scene. Thank you for sharing it.

It is definitely a beacon amid the rocky shoreline and the stormy skies. Those storm clouds are impressive and the landscape is beautifully lit with the sunlight trying to filter through.
