While driving home from Chichen Itza we passed through a small town and our taxi driver decided to stop and let us look around the town a bit. I couldn't help but notice that amidst all the other buildings, this beautiful church just stood out. I'd never seen a church like this until we stopped there, and I just had to take a picture. Sadly I was pressed for time to take the shot, and its not as good as I hoped, but I just wanted to share it with you all. =)

It is a beautiful church though and with signs of a good age and I think the glare of the sun and resulting rainbows over the gate is quite additive in the whole effect... Thanks for sharing Alexzandra ;)

That is quite a cool shot there Alex, the light really adds to the photo and the leaves at the top corners of the photo are well placed.

And since you did share this wonderful building with us ... thought I would return the flavour. :oD

Saw your image here some time back, and am, or did, finally get around to playing around with it in Photoshop. I thought that perhaps a sepia tone, or similar, might work well.

I'll leave the success of my edits up to you.

You composed the scene well, in my humble opinion. I like the placement of the cross on top of the gates, offset and to the right of the front doors.

Some nice 'lines' in the frame as well. Those of the gates and then those of the church itself. Nice contrast in curves, verticals and horizontals.

Hope my words here find you and yours well. And here's to a good good holiday weekend. :o)

p.s. Just click on the image to enlarge it (once at the linked page) ... then, right click to save it if you so wish.
