This grand old house is located on the KY/TN line . We were lucky enough to meet the gentleman who now owns this and the surrounding 300 acres. This 100 year old house belonged to his Uncle. With some TLC his hope and ours is that this beautiful house be brought back to life. It is of my opinion that we in the US to many times cast away and destroy where we came from which is what made us who we are today . Our hope is to return to this place and see this house in it's full glory .

Is this house haunted? You failed to mention the small boy standing in the upper right window. Were there children in the house, or am I the only one seeing this.

I agree with your sentiment about getting rid of the old and not keeping them in good condition. I like old houses such as this and wonder at their history.
The boy in the window has a friend.
Good details and colors.

I'll have two shots of what their drinking so I can catch up and see the apparition in the window. A nicely captured and presented scene. Good composition, details and textures in the photo.

I recall how my Mom would always point out old farmhouses and wish she could buy it and fix it up. I hope this one gets a facelift as well. Enjoyed this image.

Why, a little duct tape and that place would be good as new. I could live in it as is! I might take to cuttin' down the growth in the yard though. LOL. Beautiful shot, Marsha. I love this kind of picture!

No small task ahead then, Marsha. Old things, which really aren't old in the grand scheme of things, always have more appeal and often times were made with the greatest craftmanship and by hand. They lasted longer too. Please show it to us when it is restored.

Well done. The soft lighting adds to its nostalgic charm and the high grass heightens the forlorn look. Despite the thoughtfulness you put into this composition, preserving this house photographically will have to be magnitudes easier that preserving the actual building.

Wonderful find and this house would have been gorgeous in it's day. I see there are still power lines going to it.

Wonderful photo and what I like about this old house is all of its straight lines are mostly still seem pretty strong. It would be great all fixed up. Super color to the photo.

To bring it back to its old glory will mean completely rebuilding the house. Nice capture of this old weather beaten house.

marsha, this brings me way back, when i was a kid there was a house soo similar to this on the dirt road that led to my best friends house, it was on a field far back from the road called pelly's green, it always scared me, because i was sure i could hear voices and dishes rattling every time i passed by there, although when i was older i had the nerve to go inside through a boarded up window and peer out through the openings in the slats,i felt very nostalgic doing that, kinda like i was someone that had live there long ago, looking out over the green!pretty strange feeling looking at this, again!!!!
