Dan and I were sitting outside when we spotted something in one of trees . We got up to take a closer look and spotted this little guy getting a closer look at us . This image is not without issues but I wanted to share him with you , he appears to be a young one . When I was a little girl my Father rescued some baby raccoons who were on the edge of the road next to their dead Mother . She had been hit by a car . We took them to a friend who was a Vet . They were all released back into the wild except for one . He was small and weak and the fear was he would not survive in the wild . So he became a member of our Family . We bottle fed him till he went on solids , he was a big fan of the cats food and ice cream ... yes ice cream . We named him Fitzgerald after the road my Father found him on . He was a great pet , got along well with our dogs and cats . When he grew stronger we took him to a rescue so he could be with his own kind . We kids cried and cried but my Father explained it was what was best for Fitzgerald . My Father was right . Fitzgerald lived out his days ... doing what Raccoons do , he appeared to be happy and lived a long life . I never see a Raccoon that I don't smile and think of Fitzgerald and my Father , who loved all animals . Guess this explains my love for all animals ... it's in my DNA .
