I'd agree with you in that the heat haze looks good – I’m pretty sure you would be able to enhance the cars sharpness with smart sharpen a little though. The only other alt I'd have suggested would be to alter the crop so that the parked cars are lifted toward the top of the image and revealing a little more of the track to balance the picture and diminish the slightly awkward effect of the cars yaw.

Hi Andy, another big fat beast !! I think +philcUK has some very constructive comments that I can't add much more too. I would have probably played around with colour saturation / white balance in addition to sharpening, to add some punch to the image. Nice stuff though. vroom vroom.
