Whilst out the other night I thought I might try a long exposure & light trails shot. I did intend to capture just the Cathedral & castle in the distance, but decided to include the roundabout below as well. Before you ask, I have no idea why they light up the castle & cathedral in different colour lights LOL. Enjoy... C & C always welcomed :))

Nice night shot Mick, does seem strange using different colours for the lights dont they know about co-ordinating. I feel a letter to the council coming on.

The settings were iso100, f16, custom white balance, 73 seconds exposure time & RAW format. I used a remote release & tripod & just kept the shutter open until I thought enough traffic had passed to make enough light trails.
I just thought it was a slightly different slant on an extensively photographed subject, the 900 year old Cathedral & Castle towering over the modern day hussle & bussle below. :))

I like how it turned out, its a little bright in the right bottom corner, but that's hard to avoid and be able to get the lighting for the darker areas, a tricky thing indeed. Very well done shot though :)

Very nice night shot! Can't get much better than that. Are the castle and cathedral lights really different colors or did they just come out like that in the photo? Just curious if they use different types of lighting.
