I'll have to explain but when I saw this, it scared the hell out of me. When I was twelve, I went out ice fishing by myself...Fell through the ice and was chest deep in the water...For about 30 minutes...This image is a near duplicate of what could have been the my last images on ole' planet Earth. It's so eerie how the light of this pic, was exactly as I remember it being that day, and the distance to the shore is a virtual replica too. It may sound strange but I like this because it reminds me of that day and of a father who had the sixth sense to come out, looking for an overdue son...Dave
I really like the play of the light across the water, and I love the fact that the leaves have that spark of orange against a (mostly) black and white background. Excellent angle! Just a great composition.
Sometimes a picture brings back a flood of memories - and this one really does it for me. It looks so much like a cold January morning where I grew up in Northern Illinois. Nice photo - and good capture.
