This was our unusual sunset tonight. The photo does not do justice to its beauty.
I don't know how to tone down the glare but I hope you enjoy it anyway, I thought it was one to share. . . . . . Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-7
Astonishing Lyn....you certainly have wonderful skies...your making me quite jealous!
the way to control the flare, is with a filter that fits to your lens`...The camera you use already has a lens hood, so that should help!.....

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Very very nice, thanks for sharing Lyn :) The colours are great and the way you positioned the glare (even though it's a bit much) is great (i hope you elarn how to tone it down, will look great re-visited)
p.s. i think i confused myself somewhere in the post... my bad :\
Another stunner from you, my dear. I agree it is a bit overblown in the glare department, but I think owd Bob probably gave you (and me) some good advice back there..what a fantastic skyview :)PJ
Yep, that camera has a lens hood, but did you use it? Also, a polarizer filter would help and then another trick is to frame to the right of the actual glare, hold the shutter button half way down, meter off of the light sun strips in the background, keep holding the sutter half way while you recompose back as you have captured it. Great sunset.

If this doesn't do the sky justice then it must have been utterly unbelievable. Bet your heart skipped a beat when you saw this Lyn, it's truly awe-inspiring.
