Most people shun Oxalis from their gardens but I encourage this in parts, as a ground cover. I love the vibrant shamrock-like leaves and the delicate little flowers, less than 1" in diameter. Oxalis Montana -- also known as Mountain Wood-Sorrel -- Oxalis: from the Greek oxus for "sour," referring to the pleasantly sour taste of the leaves and stem -- Montana: of mountains. . . . . . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7. . . . . Ah - at last - a flower I recognise, as I have it in my little front garden and I'm so glad you've told me what it is - thank you, Lyn.

Can't say I've ever tasted the leaves but Becks always makes a beeline for them and has a good chomp, so I can only assume he like their pleasantly sour taste.

Your image would be highly appropriate for posting on 17 March with 'Happy St Patrick's Day' written across it!

Lovely clarity and the clean colouring and double borderboth work a treat. Well done, Lyn!!

A beautiful pairing!! Luv the white on green as it really makes these babys sing!! Again, the dirrerent framing really works nicely and draws the viewer in with a sense of freshness!!

Yes, it's bringing out the Irish in me for sure..and that's a lot. I wish I could grow these in my flower garden. I'll have to go look in my seed catalogue that should be coming in the mail starting about next month. They do like to get a jump on the market..lol...straight into my faves on my hard drive for this one, and it will take a proud place in my St. Pat's Day celebrations...excellent job, as always, Lyn :)

Yet another lovely image Eve. Beautiful shade of green you chosen for the frame. Wonderful composition, the shamrock shaped leaves are positioned perfectly upper left showing off the two lovely flowers to their best. The two posts (this and St. Peters Dome) you put up today were extremely well done. You're going to wind up monopolizing my favorites. :o)

We have a variety of this with tiny yellow flowers. "Shun" is a kind euphemism for my feelings about it. You have made this wretched weed look beautiful and your framing is exquisite as always. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
