I visited a friend's garden today and found myself irresistibly drawn to flowers of my favourite colour. I have made a small series of 6 - I hope you enjoy them :) To start - Autumn Crocus. . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7. . . . . Thank you for viewing, comments most welcome and always appreciated.

A stunning shot, Eve, and straight to my HD! Your comp on this is great, I especially like the way one petal crosses over like a banner in the top left corner. Your simple frame completes it perfectly.

Really, a crocus that blooms in the fall! I had no idea. This is just so beautiful in every way, but I never would have guessed it was a crocus. Wonderful job on this, Eve.

Well, I guess since you live in the southern hemisphere, then you would have crocus in the fall...do you have them in the spring too? These are lovely and I always look forward to your flower pics, Eve...you know that :)

Thanks everyone for your comments.To answer PJ's question, yes we do have crocus in the Spring as well. This one is of the Colchicum Autumnale variety and I believe is called Colchicum Waterlily.
