Unless we see the original in colour it is difficult to say whether the black and white looks better or not. The facades look impressive in b/w and the clarity is very good.
I remember this street... walked it many times but of course I couldn't even dream of buying anything here. I like what you've done with it. I think the mostly b/w aspects make for a very interesting image, especially with the contrasting warm lights in the windows.
Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
well I can tell you it is very good - it has a real hectic feel to it - like everyone has to shop quickly or the businesses will close down! love the shinyness of the road and the hustle and bustle and the b&w eccentuates this. nice work Lyn!

I would like to go there someday, and when I go there I'm going to see the pope. I will ask him to bless me and to bless my cross (a small golden one) my mother gave me for my birthday. :) Great job Eve.
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to be. Trust me on this one, I live there. :-)................ MY GALLERY - THE LION****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE
I just finished watching "The Devil Wears Prada", so this was an interesting finale to that part of the festivities!! I like the black and white feel you've given to it. It give this a twilight look. I like the emphasis on the lights in the windows of the designers selling their wares. :)

Now I've been to Rome! What a neat street view. I like the way you kept the original colors of the lights in the store windows and everything else is b/w. From the comments, I'd say you have your answer as to its merits.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

This is a brilliant shot, beautiful lighting just a great feeling to it. I've done quite a lot of street shots myself (not up here yet) and this is a good un, I'd be proud of it!
