Hybrid tea 'Blue Moon'. More lilac than blue but lovely all the same. It tends to droop in the sun but has just enjoyed a spring shower in this shot. . . . . . Blue roses traditionally signify mystery or attaining the impossible. They are believed to be able to grant the owner youth or grant wishes. This symbolism derives from the rose's meaning in the language of flowers common in Victorian times. . . . . .LOL this owner can contradict the granting of youth idea:). .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

Lovely shade and the flower exceptionally well captured! Now I understand the old song : "Blue moon, you saw me standing alone --" By the way you know the saying "you are as old as you feel" ?

A beautiful lady she is..... Enchanting actually. Wonderful image in every way. They keep trying for that blue rose but so far just different shade of purple or lavender. However when they come up with pretty ones like this I say, More, please More! :o)

I was going to ask about that youth thing until you debunked the idea in your narrative! lol Maybe it is slowing down your aging by being there for you to marvel at, hence releasing vitalizing endorphins and creating a state of euphoria. I think I'll keep this one around for a while and see. What a beauty! You sure have some fantastic roses and I'll enjoy looking at them all winter long!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

That's a sad bunch of flowers you have over there. What with the tears and all. They should be here freezing their "petals off" and then they would know sad. Do I sound bitter that you're having spring now while we're approaching winter. I hope not. She's beautiful and she needs to be told so it will cheer her up. Tell her we all think she's gorgeous, which she is. Very nice Lyn.
