Looking over the waves of the Tasman Sea towards Greymouth, late afternoon. Located at the mouth of the Grey River at the foot of the Southern Alps the town has a population of just over 13,000, its economy based on fishing, forestry, mining and ecotourism. One of the reasons I love visiting this side of NZ's South Island is that the sun sets over the sea, and later this day there was a glorious one. Expect several shots lol. . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7 . . .Any comments opinions or advice always welcome and much appreciated :)

I hope you weren't at risk when you captured this stunning photo. I like the rocky cliff as framing and the sea with all its power rushing in. Those waves are gorgeous as are the clouds. Just a picture perfect photo. Congratulations Lyn.

You have shown us that the clouds around the southern tip of NZ are something unusual. This is another example - a great shot with the frothing sea in front.

It's not often we get to see the beach (unless from a boat) from this perspective. Were you getting wet my dear?? LOL! Very beautiful image....

There's nothing to fault in this image. The detail in the surf is amazing. That is so real. Of course, I love the sea anyway, and this is a keeper. Love it.
