This is typical of the beaches on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island where I recently visited. The forest descends right down to the shoreline. The road was directly behind me when I took this picture(another stop the car! I want a shot stop) and it carries on round the headland. . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7 . . Thanks for viewing, any comments of any sort always most welcome :)

Deserted even in summer - I can imagine that there must be quite a swell running there on the west coast most of the time. The beach is also not so sandy as near your place. Beautiful shot.

Great vista Lyn. The whole scene is so smooth with the coloring. Much like the rocks in foreground. My grandson would have me sorting through them for hours. I like the way it looks.

good work! Nice sweeping edges from the lines of stones and the water and the hills in the distant. The eye tends to go from bottom right, then left across and in to the image and then follows the hills back to the right. I like the proximity and clarity of the near objects and the gentle haze of the distant ones. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous capture Eve! I believe the stones add a great focal point to an otherwise fine photo. =)

Excellent, Eve. I like the low angle that features the wave rounded beach rocks and the way the forested headland leads the eye to the distant outcroppings. What sort of summertime temperatures do you experience that the folks do not flock to your lovely beaches?

I like coastal shots like this, there's something isolated and wild about them. The low angle and inclusion of the pebbles is a nice touch and creates a nice curve out into the sky. A1 post.

Nice angled shot across the shoreline Lyn! Love those blue pebbles in the foreground - the colour is very similar to the see so gives the overall picture a nice blue tone!

My kind of place. You did a great job of making it feel "spacious" and I can almost hear the sound of the waves!

Very good. The deep blue saturation of the sky offsets the rocks of the beach nicely!
