Harakeke growing on a West Coast (NZ) Beach. . .
Scientific Name: Phormium Tenax (also known as NZ flax although it is in fact a lily) . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7. Comments most welcome and appreciated.
I really like the balance of this one. Sea and shore with some plant life make for a great scene. My imagination runs wild with this one. Very good Lyn.
The grasses just steal the show in this image with the coloration and clarity of the background elements fading away. Another beautiful landscape from you. Wonderful!
How very interesting to see these growing wild by your lovely coastline. They are sold as garden plants (fairly expensive, too) around here. I have several in my garden with various colored leaves, but have never seen them bloom.
