This was one of the early photos I took with my first digital camera in 2006, the 2MP Kodak LS420. I have always liked it and although lacking in many areas maybe someone else will too. I have added a yellow filter to warm it a bit.

The diffused lighting and the different shades make this a beautiful image.

I faved it Lyn. It reminds me of the cover on "Old Man and the Sea." One of my favorite books by my favorite author.

Great post.

I do like this. It is a bit grainy, but with the yellow filter it has the look of a painting. Good idea, Eve.

Painterly! Really pulls the eye -- and the imagination -- in. The "grain" from the relatively low MP adds to the effect. Also shows that whatever your gear, you've always had a superb sense of composition and texture.

I've missed so much of late. Browsing your gallery to see what LynEve pleasures have escaped me, my eyes settled upon this gem. I'm thinking the filter had a good deal to do with my noticing it. But it's more than that Eve. I liked the scene itself very much. How you composed the rocky beach seems perfect to me. The bright intensity of the sunlight seems perfect without overwhelming or washing out that portion of the image and the lone boat off shore make it a rather ideal desktop for me. For the record ... if I had voted on this ... 8 would have been my assessment. That said, changes nothing ... just thought you should know.
