Wanaka area, New Zealand. There really was no place to stop here so I had to be content with a moving car shot to capture this sky. There were ugly power poles and lines which I have removed, along with a bit of windscreen grime.Taken with Canon 450D . . Opinions/comments are always welcome and valued.

I like the colours and beautiful sky in this driving down the road image Lyn. I hope you didn't bang up the car to bad taking out the ugly poles. Nice work

I would say you did a fine job considering the circumstances Lyn. It makes me want to see what is over the hill. What a warm, sunny day filled with so many beautiful clouds. Am I jealous. Damn right I am.

Great shot, even better from a car. I love the colors and the soft fluffy clouds, blue sky and the road just makes me feel that we are all going on a trip with you. :)

It almost looks as though white steam coming out of a volcano. Nice image with an interesting cloud formation.

Although this image depicts a rather different situation, your title does remind me to the song 'Beneath a 'painted' sky' Lyn:

Beneath the painted sky, that's where I want to be
A place to go when this old world gets the best of me
A place where dreams come true
And no one ever says 'goodbye'
Oh, I wish that I could live again, beneath the painted sky.

Beautiful post my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.

I would have done the same with less desirable results. ; ) I enjoy road photos and especially skies like this over the open horizon. I like the view looking up the hill.

Wow Wow Lyn, Gorgeous capture and great work taking this out from a moving car & cloning things out. That sky is such a fabulous colour and those clouds. Really like the way the road leads your eyes right up to that sky. Sure would love to go on a long horse ride feeling the wind in my hair.

This is really Stunning my friend. Bravo

Very nice... those clouds are straight out of Van Gogh! Also the colors of Arles, yes? :) I can see why you had to get the shot..and you did a great job removing the windscreen interface.
