I was wishing I had my Canon with its macro lens when I visited Dunedin's Discovery World Tropical Forest 2 days ago but I think the Panasonic FZ28 did OK :) Interested to know if you think so too. All comments most welcome.I hope someone will identify this butterfly for me.

Love the way you caught the under side of this magnificent butterfly Lyn. Beautiful colours and clarity. I think you did a wonderful job with the lens you used.

You're too much of a perfectionist Eve. This is a grand capture. As for the butterfly ?? Let's just say it's a mighty purdy one. :)

I think it's a Cairn's Wing butterfly, Eve. I have seen them in a local observatory here. This shot is impeccable. The Canon could not have done any better. It is so nice to see a butterfly from the underbelly instead of from that back as is more common. Great shot.

The only thing that would have improved it would be a better background, otherwise a very unique angle on this pretty Butterfly. Well done.

I think the camera more then held up its end of the bargains Lyn. I might have to check into one of those for a backup. Looks like it really does the job. Of course you were very beneficial to it. :)

I don't think the Canon could have taken a better shot Lyn. This is very, very good indeed. The detail of the body and wings could not be bettered.

I doubt if you can get it any clearer than that with a canon or any other camera. This is crystal clear and a beautiful shot Lyn!

It is a beautiful shot, Eve. Cloning that white post out wouldn't hurt anything, and remove a minor distraction.

I love the angle on this! Usually butterflys are shot from above. I like that this is from the front of the butterfly. Super color and detail. Just voted a 10 on it! Very lovely post.
