Some tall old macrocarpa trees in Southland, New Zealand leaning sideways after being wind buffeted for years. It was cold and raining for this shot which seemed to suit the scene. View full size and you will see some white birds clinging on :) Taken with Canon 450D. Thank you for your views and comments.

Wonderfully moody shot Lyn and I can see those birdies clinging for dear life - a great visual image of what wind looks like.

Very nice B/W image Lyn especially with those clouds behind and the trees leaning so much. Looks as though some real bad weather is on the way.

Love the song by the same title LE. This is a great image and it almost looks black and white. Bend but don't break. A good motto to live by.

Not difficult to tell the strong wind is blowing, or from which direction. Excellent post, and good for you venturing out.

Talk about. Those poor have been fighting the wind for a long time. Gallant stand.

What a vista! So the wind is not blowing and keeping them like that, btu rather it has formed the trees over time, so that is how they look like even on a bright, windless sunny day?
A good shot!

A nice dramatic looking scene you've captured in this photo. The trees give the impression of being blown by a strong wind. The lighting and colour tones set a nice atmosphere for the shot. Good work.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson
