I was intrigued by this piece of driftwood and its shadow in the clear waters of Lake Hawea.
Hawea is a glacial lake and the smallest of the New Zealand's southern alpine lakes. It is 1,133 ft above sea level 1,285 ft deep and covers an area of 46 sq miles.
I can vouch for the water being cool - very cool - as I was in it to take this photo Brrr :)
Taken with Canon 450D using the EFS 17-85mm lens with a Circular Polarising filter.
Thank you for viewing. Comments/critique always very welcome and apprecairted.

I was just about to ask whether it would be asking too much of you to get into the water and remove the stick to make the image more tidy LOL

Lyn - The moraine in the foreground, and mountains beneath the clouds frame this clear water beautifully. Thad

A beautiful shot, LynEve! The blue-gray colors and fine detail are very appealing, and I love the perspective you've chosen for this fantastic body of water. And I can't imagine how cold it must have been to get this shot. :) Nicely done!
