Residents at Hawkesbury Lagoon, Waikouiti, New Zealand.
The Black Swan (Cygnus atratus) is New Zealand’s largest wetland bird and was introduced as a game bird from Australia to New Zealand in the 1860s.
Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) came to New Zealand from the United States as a gift from US President Theodore Roosevelt, and there are now so many of them they are sometimes regarded as a pest.
Taken with Canon EOS 450D, not sure which lens was on at the time :) Thanks for viewing, your comments are welcome and always valued.

Looks like they get along well LE. President Teddy Roosevelt did a lot for our country in the way of National Parks and public land.
I like the composition of this with the water winding through the shot.

Not sure if a grouping of swans and geese is a gaggle or not. Sure nice of President Roosevelt to give away Canada's birds. lol Well, I guess you could say it is representative of our tradition of being pests around the world. I love the beautiful reflections and the surrounding terrain as I am sure these lovely birds must too.

A nicely composed waterfowl shot, LynEve. I like the tranquil setting with the swan and hump of grass in the foreground. Nice depth of field, as well.
