For Friday - from my bin. I have been a bit busy - no time for camera :(
Yellow rose taken as the light was fading at 8.30pm several months ago. Edited in PSP. Partial desaturation.
Happy Friday everyone :)

I like the desaturated look LE. Framing is beautiful too.

The white rose looks very good in spite of the desaturation Lyn. I wonder why you didn't leave it as a yellow rose. In my opinion that would have been better.

I can't get over your skill level, Lyn, at capturing something as simple as a yellow rose. Beautifully captured with wonderful detail. I look at this shot and can feel the softness of the petals. The shot looks filtered but your can see the tiny veins. My approach to flower shots is quite similar to the way I split my firewood. Of course, the tools are different, but the style is the same. When I split the firewood, I use my axes, maul, railroad ties, and sledge hammer to beat the wood into submission. That's how I approach flower photography. Your posting has that silky filtered look that I have tried. Imagine me using the word "desaturation" in describing my flower shot. I crank the saturation until the flower looks radioactive and sharpen it to the point that just looking at the monitor can cut your eyeballs. Beautiful work and a lesson in restraint for me.
