I can remember reciting this old rhyme as a child.
It made little sense to me because in the part of Merseyside (UK) where I lived none came to town, except as guests and they had to be bought !
The memory of the scent of the first daffodil I got close to remains to this day and they have always been my favourite of the spring flowers.
Now as I look around my garden and see an abundance of them I feel very fortunate.
Taken today with Canon 450D, 60mm macro lens.
Thank you for viewing. Comments very welcome. If you don't like the text and border there is a plain version Here

I like the text and border LE. I didn't realize you were originally from the UK.
Colors are soft and beautiful.

Excellent detail on this posting, LE. The lighting makes the shot for me. It highlights the translucence of those gorgeous petals. I have to admit that I've never heard that verse before and wasn't even sure at first what it meant.

Roger

P.S. I've been posting shots on Image Shack for the links like you did, but I can't get a full sized image out of it. What am I doing wrong?

I love daffodils, such a cheery flower to finish the dark winter months off with. All makes me think that spring is just around the corner.
