"Memories are the most beautiful pictures our minds can paint, and nothing can ever erase them."

I always gave my mother a bunch of my daffodils on her birthday. Together with sweet peas they were her favourite flowers. These same bulbs continue to flower year after year and I am thinking of her today, which would have been her birthday. Three weeks after I gave her the last daffodils she left us suddenly and unexpectedly. Many years later I still miss her and wish I could give her a whole big bunch. Instead I took a photo of a few them and let them stay where they are. If you are fortunate enough to still have your parents, make a big fuss of every birthday, tell them how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Remember they are so precious and we never know what is round the corner.

Beautiful flower and narrative Lyn! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Mother, my heart goes out to you today. I agree with your thinking completely, I have very nearly lost both of my parents and make a 'big fuss' about them almost daily and always remember how lucky I am that they're still with me.

Very beautiful daffodils with such bright colours Lyn. I wasn't present (was at sea) when my parents died but I did manage to see my mother days before she died. She was such a kind person.

Your shot and words touch my heart LE. I still am fortunate enough to have my mother (88) still around. I do as you suggest.

Lyn - Your narrative is beautifully touching. Your post is wonderful with depth, bold colors and enhancing lighting. With our calendar seasons being opposite, our blooms are fading and fall colors begin. Seeing these signs of Spring is very pleasing. Thad

Beautiful and touching Lyn. I lost my Mother when I was a young girl. I often think of her and my Father who is also deceased.
We all need to remember to cherish those we love .

This is such a lovely capture of these flowers Lyn. I too can sympathise with you on the memory of your mother. I only lost mine at the beginning of July this year, and I still tend her garden where my father still lives. The flowers I know she planted give me comfort, and those Forget-me-nots also appear in their abundance too, as in your other post. Flowers are a lovely way to say Thankyou, or a way of showing love, and in this case a lovely way to Remember those special people that have touched our lives too. I planted lots of bulbs last year which thankfully my mother was able to enjoy this Spring - the Narcissis being one of many of them. This is lovely post Lyn and a thoughtful one too.

I have lost both my parents and have no brothers or sisters. Try that one on for size. I can assure you, no matter how long it's been, you will mourn their passing.
