"You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way."
~Walter Hagen

One of the joys of Spring is the heady scent of freesias. This is Freesia alba Burtonii and it is named for a Mrs Burton in whose garden in Nelson, New Zealand, it first appeared as wild chance sport of F. refracta alba in the 1930's. It has been a favourite in NZ gardens for a long time but is now almost impossible to find it in garden centres so I treasure the few clumps I have.
Taken with Canon 450D 60mm Macro lens.
Thank you for taking a look and for any comments :)

Lovely yellow and white colour tones and fine lighting on the flowers Lyn. I have been in Nelson a few times but not in the 30s :)

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

That's a great capture and especially to get all the blooms in focus. Well done.

Walter Hagen was a golfer, LE. He was probably the best match play golfer of all time. If his golf ball would have landed in these flower he would have hit it out without disturbing a petal.
Good post.

I'm always drawn to the lovely photos you take of flowers. This one of the white and yellow freesias is particularly beautiful. I like the contrast the dark background gives to these bright little flowers.
