ANZAC Day is a national day of commemoration observed on 25th April in New Zealand and Australia. It commemorates those who died serving during war and it honours returned servicemen and women, past and present.
The date marks the day in 1915 when Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed at Gallipoli in Turkey, the site of New Zealand’s first major battle of World War One with the loss of over 2,700 New Zealand soldiers.

That's a lovely remembrance, LE. April 25th is also a national holiday here in Italy; Liberation Day is when Italy was liberated from Nazi Germany. Most people forget the liberation part and go on extended holiday through Italian Labor Day on May 1st.

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.

The larks, still bravely singing, fly
