I have posted many photos of this lovely lake. I hope you don't mind yet another :) This was taken on Saturday, the first of our stops on a day drive to Lake Tekapo. We found this little bay we had not seen before. We were the only ones there and it was tempting to abandon the rest of the trip and stay put, it was so peaceful and beautiful. We did continue though. I have more photos to post so I hope you will join me on a trip into MacKenzie country. See below for how the area got its name :)
Thank you for your views and comments
"The area is named after James Mackenzie, a shepherd and would-be farmer. He was captured for allegedly stealing sheep from a large sheep run, but claimed innocence and escaped. He was recaptured and sentenced to five years’ hard labour, but escaped twice more. Later, his trial was found to be flawed, and he was pardoned. Said to be immensely strong, he was admired as a rebel who challenged the powerful and wealthy." (from Te Ara Encyclopedia of New Zealand)
