This is not Steve's (braces) Glorious New Brighton but another Glorious New Brighton near Christchurch New Zealand.
The Pier was built in 1977, is 300 metres long and 7 metres above the water. The original pier existed from 1884 to 1964 when it was demolished.
Taken a couple of days ago - cool day and a bracing walk to the end.
Panasonic Lumix TZ60.

Lyn, I really like the perspective, and the overall scene, I like that moody sky, and the pier draws us into the image. The new camera did good with you behind it.

Great shot showing the pier at its full length Lyn. That moody sky looks very good too. Steve won't like that LOL!

The pier appears to stretch out over the water forever in length. Nothing like a cool day to keep people away and you got the beach all to yourself.. good job Lyn

You would have to take a long walk off a long pier on this beauty, LE. I love the disappearing point.
Your new camera is working good.

What a shot! I love the lines in this, and the sky is amazing. It looks like a hurricane is forming on the horizon. I would love to take a walk out on the pier. Excellent work, Lyn.
