No your eyes do not decive you - both my uploads today are the same original photo. They have been edited two different ways in different applications by two people with skill levels wide apart.
I would be interested to have your opinions on the differing moods portrayed and which you prefer (its not a competition, just an experiment to see which image is most pleasing to the eye)
I look forward to your comments. I have permission to post both. One will be deleted, either the one least favoured in comments or the one I like least :) I Have not decided yet how to choose but I already know which one I prefer.
Which do you prefer (and why)?
The original photo was taken on the same day as my 'Two Hours On Monday" group of images with Panasonic TZ60.
Thanks for your interest and comments in advance.

I have downloaded both and compared Lyn. I prefer this version because here the lighting is more suitable to the scene. For such a sky as the one here the other image appears to be too dark. If you wanted to make it moody and darker this should have had a sky with darker clouds. Just my taste and opinion :)

It's a close call here my friend, but after looking at them several times, I'm going with the other one, I like the darker look to it. It seems to draw my attention into the image a little more. I'm curious which one you will choose. :) tigs=^..^=

I prefer this one, I like it when everything is sharp and clear. The other is just too dark for me.

I like the driftwood in this one because it stands out and is the focal point of all in the photo Lyn; however, I like the dramatic feeling of the other one so I choose the Driftwood Sculpted over this one.

Both images are gorgeous, and it's hard to make a choice as to which one is better. The second one IS a little darker, but you only notice it when you go to view it immediately after viewing this one. I really like all the detail in the sand and stones in the foreground here, and since big beautiful, cloud filled skies stand out to me, this one is a winner because it has not been cropped as much..if at all. After saying all that, this one has my vote.

This one isn't nearly as dark. Normally I prefer darker photos but this one really stands out. I did like how you cropped some of the sky in the other one, but it lost some of the blue which adds a lot to my estimation.
It's a close call but I will choose this one.
I had to overlay one on the other to come to my decision.

I must agree with everyone picking this one - I too generally like darker but this one really stands out in many ways - the driftwood is more highlighted and I agree that blue in the skies add a lot - so this one for me.
