This bee was very busy cleaning pollen from its body with its back legs when I took this picture this afternoon.
Bees have pollen combs on the inside of their legs that they use for this and then they rub their rear legs together and rake the pollen into the pollen press in the joint on the opposite leg. They press the pollen into tiny pellets which are then carried in their pollen 'baskets' on their hairy legs.
Very clever creatures, are bees :)
