The bollard on the wooden wharf
has seen much more than you or I;
The boats with fish and men with boats
all set beneath the changing sky.

Caressed once by ropes it slumbers now,
Oblivious of the passers by.

I hope The Bollard realizes that you were not oblivious to it. It and the pier are worn with time and lack of care. And, though still able and capable, the two wait out their time, sunrise to sunset.

What a service this bollard has done over the years, retraining vessels,etc. Good angle in this capture.
