This is a nice shot, make no mistake about what is to follow from a fully-engaged mouth with two feet planted.. ... er, fingers, perhaps?

Just kidding a bit.

Really liking the colourations and the DOF you employed.

Caveats?

This might just be my personal opinion, however, forging ahead ...

The silhouetted trunk/branch is a bit too dominant. Not having the benefit of being there at the scene, so to speak ... I would humbly suggest a different composition with a slight change ... or orienting that element up to the side of the frame.

It does give more contest to your shot, it is a nice touch of use of natural framing. Except now you have the lower bottom right relegated to that of a distraction (minor). So, yeah, tuck it up against the outside frame.

Allll that nonsense and drivel of mine aside ... I really do like and enjoy your photo here.

Good clarity, good exposure ... and your subject matter is a soft spot for me.

Thanks for sharing your creative efforts with us. Look forward to seeing more from you and your camera. :o)

Nice clarity and angle in your shot. Lovely colours and diffuse light. The tree trunk could be cropped out as mentioned above. Good job and thanks for sharing.

In order to discover who you are, first learn who everybody else is; you're what's left.

Me too, although I'm not an expert, but this would be better without the tree trunk.

Thanks for the wonderful comments!
And I'm surprised at the reaction to the base of the tree; it makes the image for me. Without it there would be no direction, certainly too busy. As far as cropping, it blocks out the harshest part of the sun where it is now, allowing for the soft lighting to give the picture direction, starting in the top right and moving diagonally across the frame to the bottom left. I simply couldn't see this picture working if it weren't in the position it's in now.

on my part, I agree with you, dear friend.
Without the tree there would be no picture, but just lots of coloured spots. Great image and excellent composition for certain. Congratulations.
