This is a segment of the Korean War Veterans Memorial at the Mall in Washington DC. There are 19 statues sculpted by Frank Gaylord of Barre, Vt., and cast by Tallix Foundries of Beacon, N.Y. They are approximately 7’3" tall, heroic scale and consist of 14 Army, 3 Marines, 1 Navy, 1 Air Force. They represent an ethnic cross section of America with 12 Caucasian, 3 African American, 2 Hispanic, 1 Oriental, 1 Indian (Native American). There is also a Mural Wall and a Remembrance Pool. It is very touching to see this memorial.

I see it more as a anti war memorial. Great capture of it. You can even see the pain of the man in the foreground.

Nice job capturing this memorial so well! Looks like you took advantage of a lot D.C. has to offer!

I'm glad to see these being commemorated and depicted here. Thanks for the information on this effective memorial and it's personally interesting to me that the artist was from a place not far from where I live. It's also interesting to note that the Vietnam War was not the first to have a cross section of the American public. But of course, I wish there was no war and that we had memorials to great people of peace.
