A panoramic view on the upper level canal, lock gates, tower (height:150 metres!) and surroundings.Ain't that a strange sight ? Ronquières - Province of Hainaut - Wallonia - Belgium.

Hubert, that's a strange sight indeed. Your 'inclined plane' series is a very interesting one as it gives a very detailed view of that technical masterpieve. Well done! Regards, Cornelius

What a great series this turnes out to be, i would never have expected such a large tower indeed, but of cource, it must have been build for the counter weights i guess.

There is something strangely pleasing about this photo, haveing horizontal cement next to vertical cement overlooking the water...
