I will have a stab at this in the UK we call them soldier beetles and lovely close up and great backdrop with the lovely white flowers Sam.Plus I like how you focus on the main subject and have a soft blur round the edge of this photo as well.

Excellent macro like a lace tablecloth. Your images are not just photographs, but they have a real mood to them, which is sometimes hard to describe. This one is exquisite.
