I found this giant (approximately 4 by 8 inches) hibernating on my doorstep in Xiao Shiao (China). Although they aren't rare, I couldn't let the opportunity go by. Picture is taken with the only camera available to me at that time: an Olympus C-470 zoom. image is not enhanched or digitally edited.

I'm guessing you slipped a piece of paper underneith it before you took a pic? Too bad you couldn't use a larger F-stop to get more of the moth in focus.

Gross looking, yes, but quite interesting, don't you think? ;)

Is that a moth? I am impressed with the detail, but I really need to know what it is. It's furry. Are moths furry?

Great angle. You really captured the detail and colours of the moth really well by having it against the white background. If I ever saw that huge thing in person, I'd run far far away from it.

Well thank you. Though i'm sorry that i'm not able to tell you his scientific/latin name. But yes, that moth really is fury. In fact, most of the moths here are furry. Logically I can send more photos from different angles on request.

So simple and humble. What an unusual angle to shoot it at as well. It's beautiful, both the creature, and the picture.. just beautiful.
