It's nice to see that even a God speaks to us in terms of relaxation. That relaxation is as important as working. In Sweden we have a religious legacy of Luther and the Christian reformation which preaches the hard working man as an ideal, where relaxation is an expression for slacking and inability of doing the right thing to reach God and to be embraced by his divined love. From a cave in the south of Thailand.

This is what religion ought to be - relaxation and no thoughts of enemies and war. A peaceful picture, Jens!

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for. Georgia O'Keeffe

Nice, I like the contrast of the central figure against a darker background. Did that work have a plaque saying it was a Buddha figure? It looks alot like a bodhisattvas figure, since it appears the figure is wearing jewlery on the ears. I'm just curious!

As the historical Buddha (Siddartha Gautma) walked past his former fellow asthetics after his enlightenment, he was specifically asked if he was a god or a deva, and he answered "no" to both questions, replying that he was awake.

Buddhists practice walking meditation, eating meditation, sitting meditation and sleeping meditation. However, this particular mudra likely represents Buddha on his deathbed, as most reclinging Buddha figures do.

May you be free from innner and outer harm.

Indeed. This lying position, that the Buddha is taking,is known as Parinirvana, or "final attainment of Nirvana"
Beautiful pic. Some of the most beautiful Buddhist temples are found in Thailand! Great photo!
